Ingredients

  • 15 oz Canned chickpeas
  • 2 tablespoons Nutritional yeast
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 cup Bread crumbs

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas. Then, place them in a food processor.

Step 3

Add nutritional yeast, flour, water, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the food processor.

Step 4

Pulse the mixture until it's well combined and forms a thick dough. You may need to scrape down the sides of the processor a few times.

Step 5

Transfer the chickpea mixture to a bowl and, using your hands, scoop out small portions and shape them into nugget-sized pieces.

Step 6

Spread the bread crumbs in a shallow dish. Roll each nugget in the bread crumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

Step 7

Place the coated nuggets on the prepared baking sheet and spray or drizzle a little olive oil over the top of them.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
