Ingredients

  • 400 grams Extra-firm tofu
  • 4 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Paprika
  • 3 tablespoons Nutritional yeast
  • 100 grams All-purpose flour
  • 120 milliliters Unsweetened plant-based milk
  • 150 grams Bread crumbs
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Drain and press the tofu to remove excess water. Slice the tofu block into 4 equal slabs.

Step 2

In a shallow dish, mix the soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Add the tofu slices, coating them well with the marinade, and let them marinate for at least 15 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Step 3

In a small bowl, combine the flour with the nutritional yeast, salt, and pepper. In a separate bowl, pour the plant-based milk. In another shallow dish, spread the bread crumbs.

Step 4

Take each tofu slice and first coat it in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess. Dip it into the plant-based milk, and then press it into the bread crumbs, ensuring it's fully covered.
