Ingredients

  • 1 block Firm tofu
  • 1 cup Unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 cup Vegetable oil
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon Nutritional yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 4 pieces Vegan hamburger buns
  • 4 tablespoons Vegan mayonnaise
  • 12 slices Pickle slices

Directions

Step 1

Drain and press the tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess water. Slice the pressed tofu block into 4 equal pieces.

Step 2

In a shallow bowl, combine the almond milk and apple cider vinegar. Stir and let sit for 5 minutes to create a vegan buttermilk.

Add the soy sauce to the almond milk mixture and mix well.
