Ingredients

  • 1 cup Chickpea flour
  • 0.25 cup Nutritional yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsweetened almond milk
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons Aquafaba (liquid from a can of chickpeas)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the chickpea flour, nutritional yeast, baking powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, mix together the almond milk, water, and olive oil.

Step 4

Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until you have a thick, smooth batter.

Step 5

In another small bowl, whisk the aquafaba until foamy.

Step 6

Gently fold the foamy aquafaba into the batter until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as you want to keep as much air in the batter as possible for light puffs.

Step 7

Using a spoon or a small cookie scoop, drop tablespoon-sized dollops of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the puffs are golden brown and firm to the touch.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

Enjoy your vegan cheese puffs as a delightful and guilt-free snack!
