Ingredients

  • 240 ml Almond milk
  • 7 g Active dry yeast
  • 15 g Coconut sugar
  • 500 g All-purpose flour
  • 60 g Vegan butter
  • 30 g Nutritional yeast
  • 5 g Garlic powder
  • 5 g Onion powder
  • 5 g Salt
  • 150 g Vegan cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 14 g Chia seeds
  • 60 ml Water

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, combine chia seeds and water to make a chia egg, let it sit for 5 minutes until it forms a gel-like consistency.

Step 2

In a saucepan over low heat, warm the almond milk until lukewarm. Do not overheat.

Step 3

In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the warmed almond milk, active dry yeast, and coconut sugar. Let it sit for 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

Step 4

Add the chia egg, melted vegan butter, and 1/3 of the all-purpose flour to the yeast mixture. Mix on low speed until incorporated.

Step 5

Gradually add the remaining flour, nutritional yeast, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Knead the dough on medium speed for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic. You may need to add a little more flour if the dough is sticky.

Step 6

Lightly grease a bowl with vegan butter, place the dough in the bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
