Ingredients

  • 240 ml Unsweetened almond milk
  • 10 g Active dry yeast
  • 50 g Granulated sugar
  • 450 g All-purpose flour
  • 5 g Salt
  • 100 g Vegan butter, softened
  • 5 ml Vanilla extract
  • 1 g Turmeric powder (optional, for color)
  • 60 ml Aquafaba
  • 15 ml Maple syrup

Directions

Step 1

Warm the almond milk in a small saucepan until it's lukewarm (about 40°C). Pour it into a large mixing bowl.

Step 2

Add the active dry yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar to the warmed milk. Stir gently and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add this dry mixture to the frothy yeast mixture, stirring until a rough dough forms.

Step 4

Add the softened vegan butter, vanilla extract, and turmeric powder (if using) to the dough. Knead the dough in the bowl until the butter is fully incorporated. The dough should be smooth and slightly sticky.

Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Once the dough has risen, preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
