Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup Warm water
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 block Firm tofu, drained and crumbled
  • 2 cups Green cabbage, finely chopped
  • 1 medium Carrot, grated
  • 2 stalks Green onions, sliced
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch

Directions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add warm water and knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Step 2

While the dough is resting, prepare the filling. In a bowl, combine crumbled tofu, cabbage, carrot, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, black pepper, and cornstarch. Mix thoroughly.

Step 3

After the dough has rested, knead it once more and divide into small balls, about the size of a walnut.

Step 4

On a lightly floured surface, roll out each ball into a thin circle about 3 inches in diameter.

Step 5

Place about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of each circle. Wet the edge of the wrapper with a little water, fold the dumpling in half, and press the edges to seal tightly.

Step 6

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully add the dumplings to the boiling water in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pot.

Step 7

Boil the dumplings for about 8-10 minutes or until they float to the top. Make sure the filling is hot and the dough is cooked through.

Step 8

Remove dumplings with a slotted spoon and serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
