  • 0.5 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Ground coriander
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 0.25 teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Cilantro
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 0 Oil for frying

Directions

Step 1

Boil the potatoes until tender. Peel and mash them in a large mixing bowl.

Step 2

Steam or boil the green peas until they are soft. Mash them lightly and add to the potatoes.

Step 3

Add breadcrumbs, cornstarch, ground cumin, ground coriander, red chili powder, garam masala, turmeric, and salt to the mashed potatoes and peas.

Step 4

Finely chop the cilantro and grate the ginger, then add both to the mixture.

Step 5

Step 6

Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into a flat round patty or tikki.

Step 10

Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
