Ingredients

  • 227 grams Cream cheese, softened
  • 113 grams Unsalted butter, softened
  • 360 grams Powdered sugar
  • 1 whole Vanilla bean pod
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon Heavy cream (optional, for consistency)
  • 1 pinch Pinch of salt

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and unsalted butter.

Step 2

Using a hand or stand mixer, beat the cream cheese and butter on medium speed until the mixture is creamy and smooth, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 3

Split the vanilla bean pod down the center with a sharp knife and scrape out the seeds using the edge of the knife.

Step 4

Add the vanilla bean seeds, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the cream cheese and butter mixture. Mix briefly to incorporate.

Step 5

Gradually sift in the powdered sugar, about one-third at a time, mixing on low speed to prevent splatter.

Step 6

Once all the powdered sugar is added, increase the mixer speed to medium-high and beat for 2-3 minutes until the frosting is fluffy and smooth.

Step 7

If the frosting is too thick, add heavy cream 1 teaspoon at a time until the desired consistency is achieved. Mix briefly after each addition.

Step 8

Use the frosting immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Let it come to room temperature and stir before using.
