  • 1.25 cups soda water (cold)
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 4 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 0.5 cups mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 0.5 teaspoons sugar

Directions

Step 1

Peel the onions and slice them into 1/2-inch thick rings. Separate the rings carefully and set them aside.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Gradually add cold soda water to the dry mixture, whisking until you achieve a smooth, slightly thick batter. Be careful not to overmix.
