Ingredients

  • 225 grams Bittersweet or semisweet chocolate (high quality, 60-70% cocoa)
  • 115 grams Unsalted butter
  • 150 grams Granulated sugar
  • 4 Large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Cocoa powder (for dusting, optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a 9-inch (23 cm) round springform pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.

Step 2

Create a double boiler by placing a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water. Make sure the bottom of the bowl doesn’t touch the water.

Step 3

Add the chocolate and butter to the bowl. Heat, stirring occasionally, until both are completely melted and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

In a separate large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
