Ingredients

  • 250 grams ground beef
  • 250 grams ground lamb
  • 1 medium, grated yellow onion
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 3 tablespoons, chopped fresh parsley
  • 4 tablespoons bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground lamb, grated onion, minced garlic, and chopped parsley.

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix the bread crumbs with the milk and let it soak for 2 minutes until soft. Add this mixture into the meat mixture.

Step 3

Crack the egg into the bowl, and then add the cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together thoroughly until well combined.

Step 4

Using your hands, shape the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball, and gently flatten them into oval or round patties.

Step 5

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the meatballs in batches (do not overcrowd the pan).

Step 6

Cook each meatball for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and fully cooked through.

Step 7

Remove the cooked meatballs from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Step 8

Serve the Turkish meatballs warm with a side of rice, salad, or flatbread. Optionally, accompany them with yogurt sauce or tahini for extra flavor.
