Ingredients

  • 4 pieces bone-in, skin-on turkey thighs
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 0.25 cup maple syrup
  • 0.25 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley

Directions

Step 1

Pat the turkey thighs dry with a paper towel and season them evenly with the kosher salt and black pepper.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the turkey thighs, skin-side down, for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Flip and brown the other side for 2-3 minutes. Transfer the turkey thighs to the crock pot.

Step 3

In a small bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, and dried thyme until well combined.

Step 4

Pour the maple mustard sauce over the turkey thighs in the crock pot.

Step 5

Cover and cook on LOW for 5-6 hours or until the turkey thighs are tender and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Step 6

Once the turkey is done, transfer the thighs to a serving platter and tent with foil to keep warm.

Step 7

Pour the remaining cooking liquid from the crock pot into a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat.

Step 8

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water until smooth. Stir the slurry into the saucepan and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.

Step 9

Spoon the maple mustard sauce over the turkey thighs and garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
