Ingredients

  • 4 pieces turkey sausage links
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 pieces garlic cloves, minced
  • 0.5 teaspoons red chili flakes
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 0.25 cups water
  • 0.25 cups parmesan cheese (optional, grated)

Directions

Step 1

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the turkey sausage links and cook for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside to rest for a few minutes.

Step 3

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the minced garlic. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 4

Add the broccoli florets to the skillet, season with salt, black pepper, and red chili flakes. Stir well to coat the broccoli with the seasonings.

Step 5

Pour the 1/4 cup of water into the skillet and cover with a lid. Let the broccoli steam for 4-5 minutes until it becomes tender but still crisp.

Step 6

Slice the cooked turkey sausages into bite-sized pieces and return them to the skillet with the broccoli. Toss everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes to combine the flavors.

Step 7

Remove the skillet from the heat and drizzle lemon juice over the dish. Stir well to incorporate.

Step 8

If desired, sprinkle grated parmesan cheese on top for added richness.

Step 9

Serve warm and enjoy your healthy and hearty Turkey Sausage with Broccoli!
