Ingredients

  • 2 cups Cooked turkey
  • 2 cups Cooked chicken
  • 6 cups Stuffing mix
  • 3 cups Chicken or turkey broth
  • 1 can Cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can Cream of celery soup
  • 1 cup Sour cream
  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 cup Chopped onion
  • 1 cup Chopped celery
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Dried sage (optional)
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Step 2

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion and celery until softened, about 5 minutes.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked turkey, cooked chicken, sautéed onion and celery, and the stuffing mix.

Step 4

In a separate bowl, whisk together the chicken or turkey broth, cream of chicken soup, cream of celery soup, and sour cream. Add the salt, pepper, and dried sage, if using.

Step 5

Pour the wet mixture over the stuffing mixture and gently stir until evenly combined.

Step 6

Transfer half of the stuffing mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Step 7

Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the layer of stuffing.

Step 8

Add the remaining stuffing mixture on top, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the top layer.

Step 9

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Step 10

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the top is slightly golden.

Step 11

Allow the casserole to cool for about 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
