  • 4 slices Turkey bacon
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices Bread (white, wheat, or sourdough)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 teaspoons Mayonnaise (optional)
  • 2 leaves Lettuce (optional)
  • 1 small, sliced Tomato (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Step 2

Cook the turkey bacon in the skillet for 2-3 minutes per side, or until crispy. Remove and set on a paper towel to drain excess grease.

Step 3

Butter one side of each slice of bread evenly using 1 tablespoon of butter for every 2 slices.

Step 4

Heat a clean skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, onto the skillet.

Step 5

Immediately layer 2 slices of cheddar cheese, 2 slices of cooked turkey bacon, and optional toppings such as lettuce or tomato onto the bread in the skillet.

Spread mayonnaise on one side of the second slice of bread (if using), and place it on top of the sandwich with the buttered side facing up.
