Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground turkey
  • 1 medium Grated apple
  • 0.25 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp Onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp Ground black pepper
  • 0.75 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 4 pcs Burger buns
  • 4 leaves Lettuce
  • 1 medium Sliced tomato
  • 0.25 cup Mayonnaise (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, grated apple, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with your hands until everything is evenly incorporated. Be careful not to overmix as this can make the burgers tough.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about 1/2-inch thick. Place them on a plate or tray and refrigerate for 10 minutes to help them firm up.

Step 3

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is shimmering, carefully place the turkey patties in the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature of the patties reaches 165°F (74°C).

Step 4

While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger buns and toppings. Toast the buns if desired, and set out the lettuce, tomato slices, and any condiments you'd like to use (mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, etc.).

Step 5

Once the patties are fully cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest on a plate for 2-3 minutes.

Step 6

Assemble the burgers by layering a lettuce leaf and tomato slice on the bottom bun, placing the turkey apple patty on top, and spreading mayonnaise or Dijon mustard on the top bun if desired. Close the sandwich and serve immediately.

Step 7

Enjoy your Turkey Apple Burgers with a side of sweet potato fries, salad, or your favorite chips!
