Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground turkey
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 stalks Green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 0.5 cup Plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Lemon zest
  • 1 tsp Honey
  • 0.25 tsp Salt for dressing
  • 4 Whole wheat burger buns
  • 4 Lettuce leaves
  • 4 Tomato slices

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped parsley, chopped cilantro, minced garlic, chopped green onion, ground cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Step 2

Divide the turkey mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties approximately ¾-inch thick.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Add olive oil and swirl to coat the pan evenly.

Step 4

Place the turkey patties onto the hot skillet or grill pan. Cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the patties are golden brown.

Step 5

While the patties are cooking, prepare the yogurt lemon dressing by whisking together the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, lemon zest, honey, and salt in a small bowl. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Step 6

Toast the burger buns lightly if desired.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers by layering each bottom bun with a lettuce leaf, a cooked turkey patty, a slice of tomato, and a generous dollop of yogurt lemon dressing. Top with the remaining bun halves.

Step 8

Serve immediately and enjoy!
