Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Tuna steak
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 pieces Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh ginger, grated
  • 8 ounces Button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 4 pieces Lemon wedges (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Season the tuna steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 3

Sear the tuna steaks for 2-3 minutes per side, depending on your preferred doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the butter.

Step 5

Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 6

Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are softened and browned.

Step 7

Pour in the heavy cream and soy sauce, stirring to combine. Let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.

Step 8

Return the seared tuna to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top. Cook for another 2 minutes to warm through.

Step 9

Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side if desired.
