Ingredients

  • 2 5 oz cans Canned tuna (in water)
  • 0.25 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 stalk (finely diced) Celery
  • 2 tablespoons (finely minced) Red onion
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 6 slices Bread slices (multigrain or your choice)
  • 3 leaves Lettuce leaves
  • 1 large (thinly sliced) Tomato

Directions

Step 1

Open the cans of tuna and drain the excess water. Transfer the tuna to a medium-sized mixing bowl.

Step 2

Add the mayonnaise, finely diced celery, minced red onion, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to the tuna.

Step 3

Using a fork, gently mix all the ingredients together until well combined. Break up any large chunks of tuna to achieve a creamy texture.

Step 4

Lay out the bread slices on a clean surface. Place a lettuce leaf on one side of three slices to prevent the bread from becoming soggy.

Step 5

Spoon a generous amount of tuna salad mixture onto the lettuce-lined slices of bread and spread evenly.

Step 6

Add sliced tomato on top of the tuna salad if desired.

Step 7

Cover each sandwich with the remaining bread slices.

Step 8

Cut the sandwiches diagonally to create halves, if preferred, and serve immediately.
