Ingredients

  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 10 oz canned tuna
  • 10.5 oz cream of mushroom soup
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1.5 cups cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup French fried onions
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth.

Step 4

Drain the canned tuna and flake it with a fork. Add the tuna, frozen peas, and 1 cup of cheddar cheese to the soup mixture. Mix well.

Step 5

Fold the cooked egg noodles into the mixture until evenly coated.

Step 6

Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Spread it out evenly.

Step 7

In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the breadcrumbs and stir until golden brown, about 2 minutes.

Step 8

Sprinkle the remaining 0.5 cup of cheddar cheese evenly over the casserole, followed by the toasted breadcrumbs and French fried onions.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown on top.

Step 10

Remove the casserole from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
