Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 0.5 pounds ground pork
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 2 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 0.75 cups bread crumbs
  • 0.33 cups milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1.5 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 cups ketchup
  • 1 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a loaf pan by lightly greasing it or lining it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and ground pork. Gently mix the meats together without overworking them.

Step 3

Add the finely diced onion, minced garlic, bread crumbs, milk, eggs, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to the meat mixture.

Step 4

Using clean hands or a large spoon, mix everything together until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Step 5

Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared loaf pan and press it down gently to form an even loaf shape.

Step 6

Spread the ketchup evenly over the top of the loaf as a glaze.

Step 7

Place the loaf pan on the middle rack of the preheated oven and bake for 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 8

Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This will help it stay tender and hold its shape.

Step 9

Serve warm with your choice of sides, such as mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables. Enjoy!
