Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 pieces Hamburger buns
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 4 pieces Cheese slices (optional)
  • 4 pieces Lettuce leaves
  • 1 piece Tomato (sliced)
  • 0.5 cup Pickles (sliced)
  • 4 tbsp Ketchup
  • 4 tsp Mustard

Directions

Step 1

Preheat a grill or skillet to medium-high heat.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix lightly with your hands until just combined.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty about 3/4 inch thick, creating a slight dimple in the center of each patty to help it cook evenly.

Step 4

Place the patties onto the preheated grill or skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes on the first side without moving them to allow a good sear to form.

Step 5

Flip the patties and cook for another 3-4 minutes or until they reach your desired level of doneness (internal temperature should be 160°F for well-done). If using cheese, place one slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Step 6

While the patties are cooking, spread butter evenly on the inside of each bun half. Toast the buns on the grill or in a dry skillet until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers by placing a patty onto the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with lettuce, a slice of tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Finish with the top half of the bun.

Step 8

Serve immediately and enjoy your Toasty Burgers!
