Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Tilapia fillets
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 0.5 cup Heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup Chicken broth
  • 0.25 cup Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Lime juice
  • 0.25 teaspoon Red pepper flakes (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the tilapia fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

Step 2

Season both sides of the fillets with salt, black pepper, ground cumin, and paprika.

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 4

Place the tilapia fillets in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the fish is golden brown and flakes easily with a fork. Remove the fillets from the skillet and set aside.

Step 5

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the minced garlic. Sauté the garlic for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.

Step 6

Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and chicken broth. Simmer the mixture for 2-3 minutes, allowing it to slightly reduce.

Step 7

Add the chopped cilantro, lime juice, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the sauce. Stir to combine.

Step 8

Return the cooked tilapia fillets to the skillet, spooning the cilantro cream sauce over the fish. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to warm the fillets through.

Step 9

Serve the tilapia with the cilantro cream sauce drizzled over the top. Pair with steamed rice or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
