Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Tilapia fillets
  • 0.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Shallots, finely diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 0.25 cups Dry white wine
  • 0.5 cups Chicken broth
  • 5.2 ounces Boursin cheese (Garlic & Herbs variety)
  • 0.5 cups Heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 whole Lemon, sliced into wedges (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2

Dredge each tilapia fillet in the seasoned flour, shaking off the excess. Set aside on a plate.

Step 3

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the flour-dusted tilapia fillets to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the fillets from the skillet and set them on a plate covered with foil to keep warm.

Step 4

Add the butter to the same skillet and let it melt. Stir in the diced shallots and garlic, and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and softened.

Step 5

Deglaze the skillet by adding the white wine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon. Let the wine reduce slightly for 1-2 minutes.

Step 6

Pour in the chicken broth and let it simmer for another minute. Add the Boursin cheese, stirring until it melts and fully incorporates into the sauce.

Step 7

Lower the heat and gradually stir in the heavy cream. Let the sauce simmer gently for 3-4 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.

Step 8

Return the cooked tilapia fillets to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the fillets to coat them. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat everything through.

Step 9

Sprinkle the dish with freshly chopped parsley for a burst of flavor and color.

Step 10

Serve the tilapia immediately with lemon wedges on the side for garnish. The dish pairs beautifully with steamed vegetables, rice, or mashed potatoes.
