Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 tsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.25 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 4 oz crumbled goat cheese
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 cup mixed greens (for garnish)
  • 4 tomato slices (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, fresh thyme leaves, minced garlic, finely chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are evenly incorporated, but avoid overmixing.

Step 2

Divide the turkey mixture into four equal portions and shape into patties about ¾-inch thick. Use your thumb to create a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once hot, place the patties in the pan, making sure not to overcrowd. Cook for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Step 4

About 1 minute before the patties are done, sprinkle an even amount of crumbled goat cheese on top of each patty. Cover the skillet with a lid to melt the cheese slightly.

Step 5

Toast the burger buns in a separate pan or on the grill until golden brown, if desired.

Step 6

Assemble the burgers by placing a turkey patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with mixed greens, tomato slices (if using), and the top bun.

Step 7

Serve the burgers immediately with your choice of sides, such as sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.
