Ingredients

  • 1 package (2 sheets) Puff pastry sheets
  • 4 ounces Cream cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup Grated parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Water
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour (for dusting)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Lightly dust your work surface with flour. Roll out the puff pastry sheets into an even layer if they are slightly uneven or thick.

Step 3

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated parmesan, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Mix until smooth and well combined.

Step 4

Spread an even layer of the cheese mixture over each puff pastry sheet, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the edges.

Step 5

Roll each sheet tightly into a log, starting from one of the longer sides. Use gentle pressure to ensure the roll is compact but not overly squished.

Step 6

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash.

Step 7

Brush the seam of each roll with the egg wash to seal the edges. Chill the rolled pastry logs in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to firm them up.

Step 8

Using a sharp knife, cut each log into 1/2-inch slices to create pinwheels. Place the pinwheels flat on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one to allow for puffing.

Step 9

Brush the tops of the pinwheels with the remaining egg wash for a golden finish.

Step 10

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until the pinwheels are puffed and golden brown.

Step 11

Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a serving plate.

Step 12

Serve warm or at room temperature for a delicious and cheesy treat!
