Ingredients

  • 115 grams Unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
  • 150 grams Granulated sugar
  • 70 grams Light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1.5 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 130 grams All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoons Baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 150 grams Semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined and smooth.

Step 3

Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and whisk until fully incorporated.

Step 4

In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring with a spatula until just combined.

Step 5

Fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Step 6

Using a small cookie scoop or a tablespoon, scoop out portions of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie as they will spread during baking.

Step 7

Gently flatten each dough ball slightly with your fingers or the back of a spoon to encourage spreading.

Step 8

Bake one sheet at a time in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers look set.

Step 9

Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

Repeat with the remaining dough. Store the cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
