Ingredients

  • 1 piece Premade pie crust
  • 3 medium Tomatoes
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 8 leaves Fresh basil leaves
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2

Place the premade pie crust into a pie dish and crimp the edges if needed. Set aside.

Step 3

Slice the tomatoes into 1/4-inch thick slices, then lay them out on a paper towel. Sprinkle the slices with salt to draw out excess moisture. Let sit for 10 minutes, then gently pat them dry with additional paper towels.

Step 4

In a medium bowl, mix the mayonnaise, shredded cheddar cheese, and shredded mozzarella cheese until well combined.

Step 5

Layer half of the tomato slices at the bottom of the pie crust. Add half of the fresh basil leaves on top.

Step 6

Spread half of the mayonnaise and cheese mixture evenly over the tomato and basil.

Step 7

Repeat the layering process: add the remaining tomatoes, the rest of the basil leaves, and finish with the remaining cheese mixture spread evenly on top.

Step 8

Sprinkle ground black pepper over the top of the pie.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the cheese topping is golden and bubbly.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!
