Ingredients

  • 150 grams unsalted butter
  • 180 grams semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 200 grams granulated sugar
  • 50 grams brown sugar, packed
  • 3 pieces large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 100 grams all-purpose flour
  • 30 grams unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 50 grams chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Lightly grease an 8x8-inch (20x20 cm) square baking pan, and line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Step 2

In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, add the semi-sweet chocolate chips, stirring until fully combined and smooth. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs until light and slightly frothy, about 2-3 minutes. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.

Step 4

Gradually pour the melted chocolate mixture into the sugar and egg mixture, stirring constantly to prevent curdling. Mix until fully incorporated.

Step 5

Sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Slowly fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula, taking care not to overmix. If desired, gently fold in the chopped walnuts at this stage.

Step 6

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with the back of a spoon or spatula.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 22-25 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).

Step 8

Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 15 minutes. Use the parchment paper to lift them out onto a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Step 9

Serve and enjoy your rich, fudgy Lost Brownie creation!
