Ingredients

  • 2 cups Self-rising flour
  • 1 cup Grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 0.25 cup Salted butter (cold, cubed)
  • 3 tablespoons Full-fat mayonnaise
  • 0.6666666666666666 cup Whole milk
  • 0.25 cup Unsalted butter (for garlic butter topping)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley (chopped)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour and grated cheddar cheese.

Step 3

Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry mix, cutting it in with a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 4

Stir in the mayonnaise, followed by the milk, until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the biscuits tender.

Step 5

Using a spoon or ice cream scoop, drop roughly 8 portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly apart.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.

Step 7

While the biscuits are baking, melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in the garlic powder and chopped parsley.

Step 8

As soon as the biscuits come out of the oven, brush the tops generously with the garlic butter mixture.

Step 9

Serve warm and enjoy the buttery, cheesy deliciousness!
