Ingredients

  • 0.75 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cups Whole milk
  • 3 pieces Large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered sugar (for garnish)
  • 0 pieces Fresh lemon wedges (optional)
  • 1 cup Fresh berries (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and place a 10-inch cast-iron skillet or ovenproof pan inside to heat up.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth. Let the batter rest for 5 minutes.

Step 3

Once the oven is preheated and the skillet is hot, carefully remove the skillet (use oven mitts!) and add the unsalted butter. Swirl the skillet to coat the bottom and sides as the butter melts.

Step 4

Quickly pour the batter into the hot skillet, ensuring it spreads evenly. Immediately place the skillet back into the oven and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the pancake is puffed and golden, with crispy edges.

Step 5

Carefully remove the skillet from the oven. The pancake will deflate slightly as it cools, which is normal.

Step 6

Dust the pancake generously with powdered sugar. Optionally, serve with fresh lemon wedges for squeezing and a scattering of fresh berries for added flavor and color.

Step 7

Slice into portions and serve warm. Enjoy your regal treat!
