Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Fish sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 0.5 teaspoons Red chili flakes
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 leaves Kaffir lime leaves (optional), finely chopped

Directions

Step 1

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, and brown sugar. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Step 2

Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and red chili flakes to the bowl. Mix thoroughly to combine all the ingredients.

Step 3

If using kaffir lime leaves, finely chop them and add to the marinade for an extra layer of citrusy fragrance.

Step 4

Stir in the chopped cilantro to finish the marinade.

Step 5

Use the marinade to coat your choice of protein or vegetables. For best results, marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator.

Step 6

Remove your marinated ingredients and cook them as desired—grill, bake, stir-fry, or roast—to enjoy the bold, tangy, and savory flavors of Thailand.
