Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20)
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 4 units burger buns
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 0.5 cup diced tomatoes
  • 0.25 cup sliced jalapeños
  • 0.25 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cup guacamole

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet to medium-high heat.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, taco seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until evenly combined but avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender.

Step 3

Divide the ground beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about 3/4-inch thick.

Step 4

Butter the inside of each burger bun half and set them aside.

Step 5

Cook the burger patties on the preheated grill or skillet for 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F for medium doneness.

Step 6

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.

Step 7

While the patties are cooking, toast the buttered burger buns on the grill or skillet until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.

Step 8

To assemble the burgers, spread guacamole on the bottom half of each bun. Place the cooked cheeseburger patty on top.

Step 9

Top each patty with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, and a dollop of sour cream.

Step 10

Finish by placing the top half of the bun on the assembled burger. Serve immediately and enjoy!
