Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 0.5 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 stalks green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.5 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 pieces lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices sliced tomato
  • 4 slices sliced red onion (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, panko breadcrumbs, egg, green onions, grated ginger, soy sauce, garlic powder, and ground black pepper. Use your hands or a spoon to mix until well combined.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form into burger patties, about 1/2 inch thick.

Step 3

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat.

Step 4

Place the turkey patties in the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the patties are golden brown.

Step 5

During the last 2 minutes of cooking, brush each burger patty generously with teriyaki sauce, allowing it to caramelize slightly on the heat.

Step 6

Toast the burger buns lightly in a separate skillet or toaster if desired.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a teriyaki-glazed turkey patty, a slice of tomato, and any additional toppings such as red onion. Top with the upper half of the bun.

Step 8

Serve immediately and enjoy your Teriyaki Glazed Turkey Burgers with your favorite side dish!
