Ingredients

  • 450 grams Salmon fillet, skinless
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 3 stalks Green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup Teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Cut the salmon fillet into small chunks, then pulse in a food processor until roughly minced. Do not over-process; the texture should still be slightly coarse.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the minced salmon, panko breadcrumbs, chopped green onions, egg, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Step 3

Form the mixture into 4 evenly sized patties, about 1-inch thick. Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for 10-15 minutes to firm up.

Step 4

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the vegetable oil. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the salmon patties in the skillet.

Step 5

Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Be gentle when flipping to avoid breaking the patties.

Step 6

While the patties are cooking, heat the teriyaki sauce in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat once warmed through.

Step 7

Once the salmon patties are done, brush each patty generously with warm teriyaki sauce.

Step 8

Optional: Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped fresh cilantro for garnish.

Step 9

Serve the teriyaki glazed salmon patties immediately with steamed rice, a side of vegetables, or in a sandwich/pita wrap.
