  • 250 grams Spaghetti
  • 2 whole sacs Tarako (salted cod roe sacs)
  • 30 grams Unsalted butter
  • 100 ml Heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon (finely chopped) Fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon (for pasta water) Salt
  • 1 pinch Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon (for garnish) Nori seaweed (sheets or shredded)

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of water to a boil, add the salt, and cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta water before draining the spaghetti.

Step 2

While the pasta cooks, prepare the tarako sauce. Carefully cut open the tarako sacs with a sharp knife and scrape out the roe using the back of a spoon. Discard the membranes.

In a small mixing bowl, combine the tarako roe, unsalted butter, heavy cream, soy sauce, and olive oil. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
