Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 medium, finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves, minced garlic
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.33 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 0.25 cup ketchup (for topping)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, 1/2 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, eggs, salt, black pepper, and dried parsley.

Step 3

Using clean hands or a fork, mix the ingredients until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat mixture.

Step 4

Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared loaf pan and gently press it down to form an even loaf shape.

Step 5

In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, vinegar, mustard, and 1/4 cup ketchup for the topping.

Step 6

Spread the prepared topping mixture evenly over the meatloaf.

Step 7

Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 55-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the meatloaf reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 8

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.

Step 9

Slice and serve the meatloaf warm. Pair it with mashed potatoes, green beans, or your favorite sides for a complete meal.
