Ingredients

  • 0.5 pound Ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon Taco seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • 0.5 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.25 cup Diced tomatoes
  • 2 pieces Green onions, sliced
  • 12 pieces Won ton wrappers
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup Sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Cilantro, chopped (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.

Step 2

Add the taco seasoning and 2 tablespoons of water to the cooked ground beef. Stir until the beef is evenly coated and the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Step 3

Set up a workstation with the won ton wrappers, cooked beef mixture, shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, and green onions.

Step 4

Place one won ton wrapper on a clean surface. Add about 1 teaspoon of the cooked beef mixture into the center. Top with a small pinch of shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, and green onions.

Step 5

Lightly moisten the edges of the won ton wrapper with water using your fingertip, then fold the wrapper diagonally to form a triangle. Press the edges firmly to seal. Repeat with the remaining won ton wrappers and fillings.

Step 6

In a deep, heavy-bottomed skillet or saucepan, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

Step 7

Carefully fry the stuffed won tons in small batches, about 2-3 at a time, for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Step 8

Serve warm with sour cream on the side for dipping. Garnish with chopped cilantro if desired.
