Ingredients

  • 4 pieces (6 oz each) Salmon fillet
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 0.333 cup Jack Daniels whiskey
  • 0.25 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons Minced garlic
  • 0.25 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes
  • 0.25 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Prepare the Jack Daniels glaze by combining brown sugar, Jack Daniels whiskey, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, crushed red pepper flakes, and water in a small saucepan.

Step 2

Heat the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring continuously until the brown sugar fully dissolves and the sauce thickens to a glaze-like consistency (about 8-10 minutes). Set aside.

Step 3

Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium heat. Lightly oil the grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Step 4

Pat the salmon fillets dry using paper towels. Season each fillet on both sides with salt and black pepper.

Step 5

Brush the salmon with olive oil to enhance its crispness and prevent light burning on the grill.

Step 6

Grill the salmon skin-side down first for about 4-5 minutes. Carefully flip and continue grilling for another 3-4 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Step 7

In the last 1-2 minutes of grilling, generously brush the Jack Daniels glaze onto the top of the salmon fillets, allowing the glaze to caramelize slightly as it heats.

Step 8

Remove the salmon from the grill and transfer to a serving dish. Drizzle any additional Jack Daniels glaze over the top for extra flavor.

Step 9

Serve immediately with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh green salad.
