Ingredients

  • 10 pieces Fresh jalapeños
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese
  • 1 cup, shredded Sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 10 slices, cooked and crumbled Bacon
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 large, beaten Eggs
  • 1.5 cups Panko breadcrumbs
  • 4 cups, for frying Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes using a small spoon. Set aside.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and crumbled bacon. Mix until well combined.

Step 3

Using a small spoon or a piping bag, fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture, ensuring the filling is level with the edges.

Step 4

In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour in the first bowl, the beaten eggs in the second bowl, and the panko breadcrumbs in the third bowl.

Step 5

Dredge each stuffed jalapeño in the flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it thoroughly with the panko breadcrumbs. Press gently to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere.

Step 6

Place the breaded jalapeños on a baking sheet and refrigerate for 10 minutes to help the coating set.

Step 7

In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Test the oil by dropping in a small piece of bread; it should bubble and brown within a few seconds.

Step 8

Carefully fry the breaded jalapeños in batches, without overcrowding the pan, for 2-3 minutes per batch, or until golden brown and crispy.

Step 9

Use a slotted spoon to remove the jalapeños from the oil and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Step 10

Serve the Fire Bites warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or chipotle mayo. Enjoy!
