  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp Szechuan peppercorns
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup snap peas
  • 3 stalks green onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook the lo mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, dark soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and brown sugar. Set aside.

Step 3

Heat a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add vegetable oil and swirl to coat.

Add minced garlic, ginger, Szechuan peppercorns, and red chili flakes. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 5

Add carrots, red bell pepper, and snap peas to the wok. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
