Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 1 medium red bell pepper (sliced thin)
  • 1 medium green bell pepper (sliced thin)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 stalks scallions (cut into 1-inch pieces)
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 handful optional roasted peanuts (for garnish)
  • 2 cups steamed rice (for serving)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium bowl, toss the shrimp with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 2 tablespoons cornstarch until evenly coated. Set aside.

Toast the Szechuan peppercorns in a dry pan over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Lightly crush with a mortar and pestle or the back of a spoon. Set aside.
