Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 lb Ground pork
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 0.25 cup Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 3 units Garlic cloves, minced
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 1.5 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 3 cups Marinara sauce

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, eggs, minced garlic, milk, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2

Using clean hands, mix the ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix as this can make the meatballs dense.

Step 3

Form the mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs, rolling them gently between your hands. You should have about 18-20 meatballs.

Step 4

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the meatballs in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.

Step 5

Cook the meatballs for 4-5 minutes on each side, turning gently with tongs, until they are browned all over but not fully cooked through.

Step 6

Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set them aside on a plate.

Step 7

In the same skillet, pour in the marinara sauce and bring it to a gentle simmer over medium-low heat.

Step 8

Add the browned meatballs to the marinara sauce, ensuring they are fully submerged.

Step 9

Cover the skillet and let the meatballs simmer in the sauce for 15-20 minutes, or until they are fully cooked and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Step 10

Serve Sylvia’s Meatballs hot with pasta, crusty bread, or on their own with a sprinkle of Parmesan and parsley for garnish.
