Ingredients

  • 4 pieces (6 ounces each) Swordfish steaks
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 0.5 cup Pitted green olives (such as Castelvetrano), chopped
  • 0.25 cup Toasted pine nuts
  • 0.25 cup Fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 clove Garlic, finely minced

Directions

Step 1

Season the swordfish steaks on both sides with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large, heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 3

Place the swordfish steaks into the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the outside is golden brown and the fish is just cooked through (internal temperature should read 145°F). Remove from the skillet and let rest on a plate.

Step 4

While the swordfish rests, prepare the relish. In a small mixing bowl, combine the chopped green olives, toasted pine nuts, parsley, lemon zest, lemon juice, and minced garlic.

Step 5

Drizzle the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the relish mixture and stir to combine thoroughly. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper if desired.

Step 6

To serve, spoon the olive, pine nut, and parsley relish generously over the seared swordfish steaks. Garnish with additional parsley or a lemon wedge if desired.

Step 7

Serve immediately with a side of your choice such as roasted vegetables or a light salad.
