Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds Ground beef
  • 0.5 pounds Ground pork
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Cremini mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, diced
  • 0.25 cup Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a standard loaf pan.

Step 2

In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Stir until the breadcrumbs absorb the milk; set aside.

Step 3

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped mushrooms and onions, and cook until soft and most of the liquid has evaporated, about 5-7 minutes. Allow to cool slightly.

Step 4

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and the prepared breadcrumb mixture. Mix until just combined.

Step 5

Fold in the cooked mushroom mixture and diced Swiss cheese. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 6

Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared loaf pan, pressing it down gently to shape it evenly.

Step 7

In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard. Spread this glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 9

Let the meatloaf cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
