Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cups Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups Unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 tablespoons Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, ground cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.

Step 3

In a large bowl, cream the unsalted butter and granulated sugar together using a hand mixer or stand mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, and mix until fully incorporated.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until combined into a smooth dough.

Step 6

Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch (3 mm).

Step 7

Use cookie cutters to cut the dough into desired shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 1 inch between cookies.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown.

Step 9

Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

If desired, lightly dust the cooled cookies with powdered sugar for a sweet finishing touch.
