Ingredients

  • 1 bunch Swiss chard
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 large Garlic cloves
  • 3 tablespoons Raisins
  • 3 tablespoons Pine nuts
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 0.25 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Thoroughly rinse the Swiss chard under cold water to remove any dirt or grit. Separate the stems from the leaves and chop both parts into bite-sized pieces, keeping them separate.

Step 2

Peel and mince the garlic cloves. Set aside.

Step 3

In a large skillet, toast the pine nuts over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are golden and fragrant. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

Heat the olive oil in the same skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant, but not browned.

Step 5

Add the chopped Swiss chard stems to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring often, until they begin to soften.

Step 6

Stir in the raisins, followed by the Swiss chard leaves. Add the water, salt, and black pepper, and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the leaves are wilted and tender and the stems are completely softened.

Step 7

Sprinkle the toasted pine nuts over the Swiss chard mixture and toss gently to combine.

Step 8

Transfer to a serving bowl and serve warm as a side dish.
