Ingredients

  • 20 pieces Wonton wrappers
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese
  • 0.5 cups Powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.33 cups Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Water
  • 4 cups Vegetable oil
  • 0.25 cups Cinnamon sugar

Directions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.

Step 2

Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips to add texture and flavor to the filling.

Step 3

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash.

Step 4

Lay a wonton wrapper flat on a clean surface. Add about 1 teaspoon of the filling to the center of the wrapper.

Step 5

Using a finger or small brush, apply a thin layer of the egg wash along the edges of the wonton wrapper.

Step 6

Fold the wrapper diagonally to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal tightly. Optionally, bring the two outer corners together and pinch to form a traditional wonton shape.

Step 7

Repeat this process with the remaining wonton wrappers and filling.

Step 8

In a deep saucepan or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Ensure the oil is deep enough to submerge the wontons fully.

Step 9

Carefully place a few wontons into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Step 10

Using a slotted spoon, transfer the fried wontons to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Step 11

While still warm, sprinkle the wontons generously with cinnamon sugar for a sweet finish.

Step 12

Serve the Sweet Won Tons warm as a delightful dessert or snack. Optionally, pair with a drizzle of chocolate sauce or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
