Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 stalks green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp cilantro, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly oil it.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped green onion, soy sauce, grated ginger, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Step 3

Use a spoon or your hands to shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 4

Brush the meatballs lightly with olive oil to help them brown in the oven.

Step 5

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until cooked through and lightly golden.

Step 6

While the meatballs are baking, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the honey, sriracha, rice vinegar, and water.

Step 7

In a small bowl, create a slurry by mixing the cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water. Add this mixture to the saucepan and whisk until the glaze thickens, about 1-2 minutes.

Step 8

Once the meatballs are done, transfer them to a large bowl and pour the glaze over them. Toss gently to coat the meatballs evenly.

Step 9

Serve the meatballs warm, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro, if desired.
